All tyranny needs to gain a foothold
is for people of good conscience to remain silent.

The Lifeblood of Democracy

Jefferson had it right. Silence fosters tyranny. The threats in the land to our free and fair elections, the lifeblood of democracy, are very real, and our silence could mean its loss. The people's voice as expressed in the voting booth and the peaceful transfer of power are under attack by Republican-led state legislatures.

Election results could be overturned.

It is essential to save our democracy that The Freedom to Vote Act, currently stalled in the Senate, becomes the law of the land. Call or write Senators Dick Blumenthal and Chris Murphy to show your support. Remaining silent is not an option.
